A little overview of my first arcade cabinet I designed and built myself recently. Mainly runs MAME and Nebula, but a PS3 can be set up and played on it too. I've been wanting to build one of these things for years, and now I've finally done it.

Comments and constructive feedback are appreciated. I may do another video of it in action (without me holding the camera while playing), so let me know if there's anything in particular you want to see. Thanks for viewing.

  • And what wire did u use Im gonnna make a xbox 360 one and did u solder a positive a d negative to each button and how u do the lb rb ect

  • @IHDesigns wire? If you're asking about electrical wire, I just used plain hookup wire bought from any local electronics store. As far as connecting controls, I'm not going to go into detail here as I could probably write far more than I could fit here. I suggest looking online for details about making arcade sticks; same principals apply. Also, you don't have to make a cab exactly to my dimensions, create it to however you wish. I designed mine based on space and available materials to me.

  • May I ask what wood did u use and what's the mesurments and what paint and wherd u get the buttons and could I wire up a xbox 360 controller and a xbox

  • @IHDesigns I said in the video it's made of MDF (medium density fiberboard). Overall dimensions are 25.5in x 22in x 49in. Paint was just typical paint you can buy in any hardware store. Parts were purchased online from Lizard Lick Amusements. Finally, yea it's possible to hack an xbox pad for use in one of these as long as you know what you're soldering to.

  • what is the spec of the pc and how do you get a 4:3 Picture to stretch 16:10/16:9?

  • @Supermarioking13 PC has 3.06GHz Celeron D, 2GB RAM (2x1GB), and a 512MB GeForce 7300GS video card. As for your picture question, it's dependant on what software you're using. On the one I'm using (Nebula), it has an option of whether or not to hold the picture's aspect ratio. Just much around in the settings of whatever you're using.

  • @jt4mtb I'm building a similar cabinet with a 32" LCD and 360, your cabinet is sweet because it looks like it doesn't take up allot of room!

  • Heck yeah, I thought I was crazy for using this layout for neogeo fighters. Nice shiny CP by the way.
