Il est inconcevable que l'on puisse avoir une vie sexuelle normale, naturelle, saine, et ne pas vomir usines, servage du salaire, artifices de l'existence citadine, taudis, temples de l'argent, machines, trucs et machins, et tout, et tout. Henry Miller.

  • I've been reading his works, Henry Valentine Miller (1891-1980), since 1983. I first ran across excerpts of his major writings in a book called: "Faith of the Atheist."

  • A great man...all i can say. "Allways merry and bright"...but even still, it saddens me so deeply to see him like this. I don't think there is (or that there ever will be for that matter) another writer that you can get to know so well by reading his books as you do with Henry. One of a kind and truely missed. What I would not have given just to eat lunch with him... R.I.P. Henry

  • I was introduced to Henry Miller by a New Yorker on the Greek island of Poros, in 1976. Henry describes Poros in 'Colosus of Marousi'. It was Miller's enthusiasm that later got me into writers like Dostoyevsky, Milarepa (!) Melville, Cervantes, Nin, so many..Henry was always a thread through my life, always the one I felt closest too. So sad Kerouac was too drunk to make the meeting with him in Big Sur. This film of Henry on his death-bed is incredibly touching and moving. Real life and Death

  • @hansniclas

If you did get that lunch i bet you would end up paying the bill!

  • @lenbenhear This is NOT what Henry Miller said. God does NOT exist. You're in fantasy land.

  • Henry is one of the most extraordinary men I have ever come across. I feel even though I never met him, I feel like Henry is a good friend of mine, kindred spirits so to speak.

  • legend

  • THE WORLD IS A TERRIBLE PLACE, ... because "Man" has decided to be HIS OWN god.

GOD and Morality is all about sane boundaries and restraint, ... as opposed to "always doing whatever you want without regard to the consequences."

  • Beautiful, alive, man.

  • @hansniclas May we all have that mental clarity at that age. Wilde was right, "The soul is born old and grows young and that is the comedy in life. The body is born young and grows old and that is the tragedy." I remember my grandfather looking in the mirror at 97 commenting to himself, " How did such a handsome man get so ugly? This head looks like it wore out two bodies." (not trying to be funny) He would live to a hundred as he wished. It was his 100th birthday that would kill him.

  • i love you H.

  • merci beaucoup pour le fait de répondre.
