I can confirm that this is from the night of Saturday 10th September 1988, early hours of Sunday 11th. The Italian Grand Prix was on 11th September 1988 and the Guardian listings confirm that 'The Four-Minute Mile' was shown on that date.

Well, seeing as Bread was on Sundays at 8:35 for series 3 (1987), series 4 (1988) series 5 (1989) and series 6 (1990) . . .
Secondly, the announcer mentions the last in the series of Bread - which in 1988 was on Sunday December 3rd, so this would have been saturday December 2nd 1988 *if* it was 1988.

and it might not even be 1988, as Bread was transmitted in the same timeslot in 4 consecutive years.
