House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD (just outside of Washington DC) is a dealer for Breedlove acoustic guitars, made in Bend, OR. Here we have Mark Sylvester, one of our guitar teachers, demonstrating the CM Classic model.

Winner of several design awards, the asymmetrical, sharp-cutaway CM Classic guitar is highly sought after for a tone as striking as its appearance. No instrument more completely sums up the Breedlove approach to modern guitar design than the CM. It is visually AND tonally unlike any guitar available today. The standard CM has a Western Red Cedar top and Walnut back & sides. However, we custom-ordered this one with a Bear-claw Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back & sides. We also had an LR Baggs Dual Element system installed, and upgraded the tuners to Gotoh gold with ebony buttons.

With all the upgrades, this guitar has a list price of $8,199. We got a great deal on this custom build and are offering an incredible sale price that is too low to advertise—please contact us directly at hmtmail@hmtrad.com or 301-270-9090 to inquire.

To find out more about Mark Sylvester, visit www.marksylvester.net. Inquiries on lessons with Mark (he teaches guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass) can be made to House of Musical Traditions.

On this video Mark is playing two original selections from his CD "Music For Solo Guitar." The first is called "American Gypsy Pt 2;" the second is "I'll Not Be Weary."

Video produced by Glenn Tucker with audio engineered by HMT's in-house engineer and pro audio repairman Trevor Higgins. We used Neuman TLM103s through a tube preamp and with a DBX compressor set in stereo.

  • Not sure how anyone can pick a guitar this way. Most sound good with the good / consistent playing. I guess I can hear the ones I don't like as much, but even they aren't bad. I think you should give just a few more pieces of info... the list price and whether or not we are hearing the pickup. At least that will give us a little more understanding of what we're up against. JMHO

  • @guitartec See our description for more details, including list price, woods & how we recorded the demos. We did not go through the pickups on any of these, but this one does have the nice Baggs Dual Element system. Of course you'll never experience the true sound of an instrument except in person. Our intent is to provide a little more depth than just a picture on a website on our instruments for sale, especially for customers who are not local to our store. Thanks for your interest.
