As a part of a Chick Corea series I will be posting, here is the album named track "No Mystery". Musicians and critics alike rave about this experiemental album...I cannot even fathom why not to...

In a Few Short Words:
Return to Forever was a jazz fusion group founded and led by keyboardist Chick Corea. Through its existence, the band cycled through a number of different members, with the only consistent band mate of Corea's being bassist Stanley Clarke. Along with Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever is often cited as one of the core groups of the jazz-fusion movement of the 1970s. On this and the following album, each member of the group composed at least one of the tracks. The first side of the record consisted primarily of jazz-funk, while the second side featured Corea's acoustic title track and a long composition with a strong Spanish influence. No Mystery won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Performance by a Group. (Wikipedia) On this album the following artists are featured:
Lenny White
Stanely Clarke
Chick Corea
Al Di Meola

  • Ok...I like this, I especially like how the song seemed to calm down (lol) a bit... :)

  • @tnj2323 ha were you expecting a crazy only like the others???? Yea this caught me off guard when I first listened but I learned to appreciate that everything can't be funky...you need a little jazz too!

  • This is one of the best songs to come out of the fusion era!!!!! I was 16-19 years old then. Still sounds like it was just yesterday.....

  • SUBLIME song...pure magic. But can you please adjust your settings to turn off the commercial that appears at the beginning? :) Thanks!

  • How much you wanna bet that being in this band was as much of a rush as it is for us to listen??

  • @PhillyGregA cool connections,i can relate. i wonder though, how many people make those links, and stretch out their interests ?

  • Chick is so close to my heart. We were pen pals in my early years as a musician because he has always been open to everyone about his art. One of my all time influences and heroes!

  • Grande...Chick on acoustic is the Shit.

His synth stuff so often sounds dated...dig.
