Vancouver police move homeless along August 14, 2009 at 9:15 a.m.

VPD move along a man, not breaking any laws, in Gastown, after being called by Easypark Security. They respond to the security guard call in 5 minutes. Matthew, homeless for three years, was sitting on the sidewalk between the Easypark parkade and a furniture store, on the furniture store side of the property line reading the bible. No joke.

VPD OFFFICER: How come you cant just move along when they ask you to?
MATTHEW: Because, because Im not doing anything though.
VPD OFFFICER: There are lots of spots. Allright?
VPD OFFFICER: [Inaudable] Crab beach is five minutes that way.
VPD OFFFICER: Right?
MATTHEW: Theres a law [inaudible].
MATTHEW: Jeeze, you know, this is a public area, public space. This is like...
VPD OFFFICER: You know what, youre blocking the sidewalk, youre impeding people.
MATTHEW: Im not, Im not. Thats bulls**t.
VPD OFFFICER: You are. There are lots of tourists down here.
MATTHEW: Well yah, but there arent any down here now is there?
VPD OFFFICER: Therell be lots in an hour or two.
MATTHEW: You guys are too much.
VPD OFFFICER: No bikes on the sidewalk Mr. Eby.
EBY: How are you?
VPD OFFFICER: Good.
EBY: Good. Im not, ah, not riding my bike.
VPD OFFFICER: I know youre not driving, youre on it, no bikes on the sidewalk sir.
EBY: Ill get off it. There we go.
MATTHEW: Thats bulls**t.
VPD OFFFICER: Have a good day sir. Go to crab beach.
MATTHEW: You go there.
