How to get a Blue Tail in FFIV: The After Years

Follow this video, and you too can amass a stockade of blue tails by manipulating the random number generator to ensure the drop.

Their is a pre-requisite to get this to work.

Firstly, arrange your characters like this : Ceodore - Rosa - Kain - Blank Spot - Cid

**EDIT** It also seems as though Cid needs a SledgeHammer equiped and Rosa needs Angel arrows, these have added effects which seem to affect the RNG**EDIT**


Now, check your characters stats in the Status menu.

Look at Ceodore's attack multiplier - Must be 10, Rosa's 6, Kain's 10 and Cid's 10.

You can use equips to up the multiplier if needed, such as Giant's gloves, Horned Equips or Power Armlet.

If this is all true in your case, then follow the vid and the instructions below!

Directions:

1. Go to the Challenge Dungeon in Ceodore's / Kain's tale.
2. Get to the save spot, and use tents/cottages to get the moon to Waxing.
3. Save and reset the game
4. Reload the save and run around into random battles
5. First encounter with the Thunder Dragon will be pre-emptive, Attack with Kain - Ceodore - Cid
6. Let the Thunder Dragon hit you, then attack with Rosa - Kain
7. Obtain your Blue Tail!

So...like what equipment are youre guys have? At level 43-47 would there attack power really be that strong?

The only thing that is important is that attack multiplier, and a couple other equips. Read my video description for more infor on whats needed. But yes, at these levels thats normal attack multiplier with certain weapons.

You can trade them for Blue Armor in the final chapter on the True Moon. Get to the depths, then use a transporter to go to ???

How in the world did you get Kain's HP so high, because it doesn't supposed to be that high, you must've used A LOT of silver apples. Because at level 50 he's only supposed to have 3625 HP.  Also Ceodore's doesn't supposed to be that high either.

Yeah, silver apples. There is a guaranteed drop for the apples also, early in the chapter, first trip through the devil's road. You can get an apple on the first battle every time you load up the game. I collected like 40 of em.

Yeah, I have them too. I posted that comment quite some time ago before edge, yang, and palom chapters came out. I was curious as to how he already had them.

They just came out like a week, or 2 ago. I downloaded all the Add-on content so far. I maxed out Level wise with the following: Edge Ceodore Kain Rosa Cid Edge's 4 Ninjas Luca Rydia Ceodore's they max out at Lv. 50 Add on content maxed out at Lv. 40 I guess Square Enix didn't want me to abuse my Lv. Grinding.
