Did this several years ago. Great hiking area.

@MrJasonBryan If you decide you want to do the whole 30 mile loop let me know. I live approx 35 miles from South Fork, and after I hit up the Pickett 10 mile trail a few times, I should be ready to take on the Big 30.

I'm planning doing the 30 mile this summer. I will be using my Delorme PN4-0SE GPS which has every trail, on a detailed terrain map, and plenty of batteries. I just don't know where a good camping spot is at this point.

What trailhead did you start from? I am interested in doing a similar loop and haven't figured it out yet.

Looks like a fun trip. Ready for the PCT? :o)

@rainbowhiker, Yes it was a fun trip. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. Actually I've backpacked out west a lot, although I've only dayhiked a short section of the PCT. So far my favorite places out west are Wind River Range and Cloud Peak Wilderness, both in Wyoming. Bryan

thanks for sharing the video! My GF and I love hiking in BSF. We really like the twin arches loop and angle falls overlook.
Another great trail is the gentleman's swimming hole which is in the town of Rugby.
I would love to do this 30 mile hike sometime.

MrJasonBryan,
We took Alfred Smith Road to it's end where the John Muir Trail intersects. Then we hiked north on the John Muir Trail.
