ArttXcentriX ~ Re: Foil Art

I stumbled on "Technique of the Week 'Foil Art'" by CapricornArtist73 and it was just the kind of creative challenge I needed. I decided I wouldn't "think" I'd just "do" and see what happened. I didn't have all the materials he used so I ad-libbed with what I had. This is the gift that came out of it, that I made for my best friend who's stood by me and never let go even when I was losing my mind. Thank you so much!

materials used (shortlist): Wood base, latch hook rug backing, aluminum foil (heavy), old nail polish, vintage (metal) Christmas garland, faux metal technique on mache clay and cardstock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w5MeZbKek0, found items...giant rusty nail, copper wire, red wire harvested from old radio, gel medium, acrylic paint.

Beautiful technique sis! One of my favorite pieces. What are the wings made of? I couldn't tell. {HUGS}Tell Chel & Miah hello for us. We want to video chat ASAP! Miss them too!

The wings are the same "faux metal" that I did in the how to vid. I just cut the wings out of cardstock, did the faux metal, then used gold paste, then backed that cardstock with black cardstock cut a little wider to give the wings an outline. They say hello back and we definitely have to vid chat it's been ages! *HUGS*

I love how this piece turned out. the metallic look is awesome, i love how you can see a bunch of different colors on it but that it's still dark. Everything you used fits perfect, all the wiring, the wings and the nail look awesome.
