Hitchens is 100% right. And the rabbi proves Hitchens' point that religion may drive regular people to say and do immoral things. The rabbi is so brainwashed by his beliefs that he jokes about the mutilation of his own son. Shame.

Hitchens is doing a great job in exposing this disgusting practice for what it is. And it's time that these rabbis and mullahs realize how messed up they are.

Just so everyone reading the comments below is clear, the "It prevents infection!" argument is near total bunk.

Studies on the subject are conflicting and even the ones that show an improved defense against infection among circumcised males are hardly statistically significant.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (pretty much the authority on the subject) has stopped recommending the procedure as the "benefits" it provides are insignificant and maybe even entirely fictional.

You think people were concerned about Bible interpretations and I think they were concerned about infection. People circumcized to prevent death and pain. After that, the motivation was gone and people stopped (in spite of being told to circumcize by the church and by doctors).

You should really do more research on this. Circumcision's MAIN and ONLY motivation for a long time was to prevent and punish sex. people used it as a way to desensitize the penis up til the 70's.
