What is the concept of Jihad and how does it relate to the Martial Arts?

  • Hello dawah, a while back I made some nasty comments to you based on a film made by thunderfoot, firstly I would like to apologies, my comments were uncalled for, thunderfoot himself is an extremist, I recently joined the Baha'i faith that accepts all religions, you are a good man, good on you for standing tall through such horrendous bias, you will not be forgotten. My blocked name is pete4reality.

  • @pete4socks

Salaam Pete, I truly appreciate this and there was never any grudge. Insh'Allah may we speak again in the future.

  • Doesn't matter how you try to rationalize Jihad really, people have died under the use of the word, I have heard that Arabs generally don't like the use of the term Crusade either, has something to do with all the murder and rape and cannibalism associated with the word, how silly of them they don't know more about the word

  • I agree. Islamic women should conjure up some "Jihad" against their oppressors.

  • What is the punishment for apostasy in Islam? What if I convert to Islam and then change my mind?

  • حسبي الله عليك بس

  • @pete4socks When peoples beliefs are dangerous to humanity there is no reason to "respect" them. Respect is something that should be earned. It is not a right.

  • @DawahFilms If the point is simply to defeat his enemy, I suggest using a gun instead. Martial arts usually start as a philosophy which allow the person to become a better man. There are martial arts whose philosophy does not reflect a need for violence but peace. Krav Maga is an effective fighting skill, yet it places no emphasis on peace keeping. I contend a Krav Magai is a good fighter, but the one who's heart is peace and justice is a better martial artist regardless of skill.

  • @Dawahfilms The philosophy of martial arts is to defend & build character. Its external form reflect the philosophy. There are martial arts whose katas are not needed in fighting, but they reflect different philosophies. There is no 1 philosophy better than another, but there is such a thing as a better martial artist with superior fighting skills in fights. "Never hope to meet your enemy, but if you're forced to meet them, be brave in the battlefield" - Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

  • @DawahFilms The former Muslims I have met were mature adults who faced very challenging decisions in following their conscience. For me it was instanteous ostracizing from people close to me, but it was worth it because I had found something sublime, something that blew the Quran out of the water, and overshadowed the sunnah of Muhammad. If you think Muhammad's way is the best, so be it, but I pitty you. God willing you will wake up real soon

  • @SicilianOedipus

Take a great Jeet Kun Do practitioner and place him against a wushu practitioner and see what happens. Or take a Thai Boxer and pit them against Tai Chi.
