In this video that has been anticipated for months, Penn Rail Videos is proud to bring you our exclusive footage of the Reading & Northern's steam-powered Fall Foliage excursion. Featuring ex-GM&N Pacific #425 in the lead, this train was quite a sight to see! Well follow the locomotive (and its train) as it runs an excursion from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe and return. But this time, there won't be a run to Haucks; we have exclusive footage of #425 being turned on the turntable in Jim Thorpe. Not only is the event exciting, but it's historic too! So come along, as take you trackside along the R&N, during the fall foliage season.

  • This is one of four different Reading 6 chime whistles that were on the 425 last year.

  • And this was the best of the 4!

  • Great video once again. Nice stack talk. I've gotta go out and see her run in person. What whistle was she carrying there?

  • Reading 6 chime!

  • Double Tracked once? Excellent video.

  • Yep!

  • At least your turntable stuff is better than what Public Enemy #1 shot.

  • Reading 6 chime? Finally a whistle that sounds RIGHT from my childhood. I assume this is what RDG 2124 had when she was in Iron Horse Ramble service? I know 2100 had the hooter freight whistle, don't know about 2102 in RDG ramble service or in it's many roles since (now of course 425's enginehouse mate). I don't think 2101 ever ran on the rambles, just AFT & Chessie Steam Specials.

  • I love the scene at the beginning of the railfan sprinting towards the tracks! 5*****

  • @CSX6000 it certainly was!

  • Dannnggg thats amazing! From what R&N website shows they will be doing this again in 2009. I think this time we'll have to hop aboard!

  • love the track shot

  • There are so many Reading 6-chimes in existence, yet none of them sound exactly the same. They all sound a little different.
