JP's one of those singers who'll send chills up your spine - and one of those players who makes your fingers depressed... ;)

@skirdhu9 - I can't think of a better way to say it! I'm astounded that any one man can be THAT GOOD an instrumentalist and THAT GOOD a singer/songwriter. I've been listening to his CD collection of songs (Looking back vol. 2) almost non-stop since it showed up in the mail.

This song by JP Cormier is awesome ...It is accurate' and back in the early 60's there were dozens of out-port communities all along the coast lines of NL that suffered the same fate ....Great video thanks for posting...

JOHNRWA....close .. but not really true...
The people voted to leave
The province...not the feds, did the deal
They never did build a road in there....
Nice song just the same....

Not a dumb question. This song was written by JP,it is a true story about Great Harbour Deep a outpost village in NFL that was only accessible by water or bush plane. The federal government in it's wisdom cut funding to the town and spent millions to relocate the people, shortly after that a logging co. built a road into the area to harvest the trees.
