Perfect Dark XBLA Challenge 30: King of the Hill (with no shields) against elite opposition.

CassSim: DarkSim
BlondeSim: DarkSim

JoSim: NormalSim (ally)

The final challenge, and one that is universally difficult, but nevertheless possible. There are "tricks" you can do, but here it is basically straight up done.

Sidenote: you might notice my voice/volume changes a little halfway through. I had taken a break and recorded the 1st/2nd half at different times. Maybe you won't notice it though, who knows.

  • The trick is that this technique takes about 3-5 seconds to set up effectively, so it really is best that you've occupied the hill before they have. Otherwise, you will simply have to set it up just outside of the hill. The outright best place to combat a Darksim is small tight spaces like hallyways and corridors, as this limits their destructive accuracy. Now, note the characters in this challenge. CassSim's slim body makes her a small, but tall target, and BlondeSim is just big.

  • @GamerX03 The end of that statement is definately true. You'll notice I have a much easier time dealing with the blonde than I do with cass.

  • Are the sims on this harder than on the N64 version? Also, great video!

  • @Oneworld87 As far as I know...nope. This challenge is as far as I can tell 100% true to the n64 version. Maybe it just seems harder because we(gamers) have been babied from then until now with difficulty in games. Dark sims are truly the most unfair things ever invented!

  • Now, seeing that the Darksim will hit you no matter how far away you are and how fast you run, the best option is to stand still and crouch down, thus making you a smaller target, while reducing the bullet spread of all weapons, especially useful for the Mauler's Charge Shot, do this just behind a corner, and you are perfectly defended from a frontal attack by any Darksim.

  • Well, the main problem with this challenge is getting the Mauler(s), finding a generally fast route to the hill, and holding said hill, especially if it is the large pillar room, and you've had a run-in with one or both of the Darksims on the way there. And your NormalSim partner doesn't exactly do much to lighten the situation. Now, the Darksims are not human simulants, they are cyborgs, and therefore can turn and fire faster than any human player under the same conditions.

  • I can't thank you enough for putting this on. I can name countless times where I was about to win 8 or 9. Now it should be a cynch now that I know how to control the sims haha
