This video is from July 24, 2010. This is the first run of Locomotive #18 on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, in Carson City Nevada. #18 formerly ran on the McCloud River Railroad, but in 2009 it came to the Comstock to pull trains on the V&T. After a year of repair and prep, it is now ready to take over for #29 on the weekend runs from Carson City to Virginia City.
The only reason I saw Water for Elephants was because I knew they were using this locomotive in the film.

why did the woman in the red dress have to be seen going from the first car to the second, both times, when they left the siding, and in the end when crossing the highway? hmmm???

V&T might renumber her to Virginia & Truckee #31.

LOL That's probably the smoothest track the 18 has ever seen in her career. Nice to see her still in her Mc Cloud colors. wonder if she'll keep her same number on the V&T

Sweet to see the 18 running... I presume they fixed whatever was bad with the bearings?

#18 before she came to the V&T last year, was leased to the Sierra Railroad to pull the dinner train. V&T leasing her was the worst mistake they ever made, the shop crew figured that out.

Now are comments working? If you can read this, they are. Good catch, and you beat it to Linehan Road! Good job. I'll post my footage from VC, Gold Hill and American Flat this weekend.
