does time machine keep an hourly backup even the external hard drive is not connected?? because i just plug my MBP to the hard drive whenever i'm home. Thanks!!

as soon as you reconnect the drive, it does it's backup.

RAM makes ur comp faster, upgrade to 4gigs. 320 gb of HD is not bad

bad option, if you want to upgrade get an external drive to keep all your files/folders safe and secure. RAM is more important internally because you need more ram as we progress into newer OS.

if u have no external hardrive then time machine cant make a backup anywhere

Not really I think I figured it out (you got me thinking) Time Machine needs an external Hard drive (be it wired or wireless) and stores all the data on that. So it's only accessed when needed and doesn't take up space everyday. I hope that made sense to you, it did in my head haha.
