I copied Paul/W0RW/pm today while in my barn/shop on the FT817 and made a recording. Added some photos etc. He was operating his PRC-74 Backpack MilPack while hiking through Garden of the Gods in Colorado Spring, CO

Yep my wife's horses have a hot wire around their corral. Sometimes I go out and flip the switch to kill that pulse noise but my brain filters it out most of the time. 73, Steve

that's cool. I love old military radios, it's almost like listening to history in a sense haha. I don't know code but "CQ" will always be very distinct to me.
