Michael Jackson - Acoustic Cover - Black or White

This is my latest try in my bizarre quest in ruining pop songs into fingerstyle guitar re-makes. Slightly improved from my blah acoustic Jesse Mccartney attempts but at least I'm improving =/. I wanted to tribute the late Michael Jackson so I gave it a shot for my second pop-to-acoustic cover; you can decide whether I was successful or just mangled up his music.

I'm developing radical new techniques/style to do this stuff which is why covering Jesse Mac took like 7 billion eons (and I still can't play it for !@#*); this only took a week or two so apparently I'm improving. So now I figure my new pop-to-acoustic skills are gonna be wasted if I don't cover more pop songs, when I just wanted to take a day or two to cover Leavin. How did this happen? Someone get me back to Metallica and Korn =P

Oh, for the love of god, if you think my line "White men can't rap" is offensive pleeease go look up verbal irony in the dictionary, you people always bend the strangest things out of context. I said the line because I really truly can't rap! It's a joke. Irony.

Your comment is dead-on via a slight modifcation: "You and the guitarists who like your stuff are alone in your cosmic trip". Absolutely. And that's something I didn't even realize initially at all. I was like WTF?? to all the dislikes on this, before I started to figure this out. See unless you're guitar-fluent, you have no idea that the style itself is creative

@mamouchka9 [cont #2]... You're used to hearing almost identical sounds with styles of music involving more than one instrument, performer, or track.  You don't realize consciously that the extra rhythm I'm creating is by slamming the guitar very hard in a way that's damaging it, actually, and would need a new type of instrument to do properly. In fact, if I were so much as tapping a wooden floor with my foot to create that sound, it would loose all that value that's invisible to you..

Another thing you likely don't know is that I'm using harmonics that are incredibly difficult to manipulate, ones that just about no one but experienced fingerstyle guitarists would ever attempt to use in an actual performance (let alone paired with purposely damaging their instrument). In fact, many would be very easy if the strings were tuned differently (or if I had 20 high E strings). I'll work on explaining this in future videos, and try to label them better.

@aymyeyehurts I don't know Tranq's model number off the top of my head. He's like a $400-level Yamaha acoustic-electric. Don't confuse the guitar with the style, though. What you might more mean is how I'm getting the sound I'm getting out of him (see what I explained at length about the style in response to mamouchka9).

@mamouchka9 I'll keep your feedback in mind, it's not uncommon with my acoustic playing. You probably articulated it best. I'm going to put an album called "High on my Cosmic Trip" on my to-do list. Here's my response, and it's very solid and core, not grasping for straws. What I'm involved in are very developed and difficult methods to do alone on acoustic guitar. I'm doing things difficult for a non-guitarist (and near-impossible for a non-musician) to even pick up, let alone appreciate..
