The selectors fucked him over, like they have been doing to states like Victoria, WA, OLD, Tas and SA. The only reason he would have been dropped was because Hodge was Vic, Clarke was from NSW and everyone knows selectors pnly like NSW guys.

this is what must have happened. Clarke got dropped due to poor form after the 2005 ashes. Hodge came in, played at his best, and got dropped again, because some twit decided clarke should come in again. in the next series, clarke played well, and hodge got dropped. just like that!

i agree, hodge was dropped after this and they said because his technique will be flawed against the england bowling attack. so they replace him with damien martyn who did jack shit and then retired 2 tests later. what a waste of opportunity for hodgey!

@kamborocks No they dropped Hodge after two embarrassing tests against SA after the 203*, then recalled Martyn who scored an amazing 4th innings ton to win a test in South Africa, fully justifying his inclusion, as he shouldnt have been dropped in the first place. Martyn did not do 'jack shit' at all. Get your facts right.

@jumpnjza2 He did play 2 tests after this one in the series, and did nothing at all, but yeah he should've not been dropped.

@Hirdy003 Thats awesome mate. Hodge is just so dominating, Viv Richards like in the way he stands there and belts the ball in top the crowd. Amazing stuff. So arrogant! I love it.
