Jobs March Tent City Pittsburgh

The Bail Out the People Movement in conjunction with the Rev. Thomas E. Smith, pastor of the Monumental Baptist Church in Pittsburgh set up a Tent City dedicated to the unemployed and homeless in the historic African-American Hill district. The protestors came from as far away as Los Angeles, from Rhode Island, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachussets and Minnesota. they were joined by people from the community. They held workshops on the right to a home and the right to a job and what can be done to secure those rights. They marched to Freedom Corner in downtown Pittsburgh demanding Jobs Now! This was the first of many marches to be held during the week that the G20 Summit was in Pittsburgh.
