  • i just bought one of these you said there hard to keep i have yet to see mine eat yours looks really healthy and active, what do you feed it and how can i keep for as long as possible

  • @tkurdi8899 dried shrimp...owned like 5 of them all died....u gotta feed it how i did....he was doing great for a few months then i saw him change and he died like 3-4 days later....alot of people say put a lil salt but i dont risk my other fish...they are cool until they die lol...good luck

  • The eel probably died because you kept it in freshwater.

    Contrary to what most stores tell you, these eels need brackish to full salt water.

  • @geniusgene ur right.... why do they do this to every1... says its from fiji and can adapt it to fresh

  • @geniusgene mate i have my pet eel in fresh water for 8 years and he still lives

  • @bullshark30 CONGRATS thats amazing. I have tried and failed. they eat for a few weeks once they stop well i know its only a matter of time...8 yrs is a long time...how big???

  • @chacoal i got my when it was a baby and put it in my dam and it eats what ever is in there from snails and maybe small fish and he has even got small baby ducks that have been swimming there

  • @yostar69 put aquarium salt in your aquarium. supplument to othor fish but to the eels the same as salt water

  • @yostar69 hey dude thanks for the reply i still have my eel and hes eating like a champ now even ate two of my electric yellows

  • they can live in fresh water i had one for quite a while till my tank got over run by snails i took him out and cleaned the tank he died a few days later and they make a salt for fresh water it helps kill bacteria in the water also help calm the fish you can by it a wal mart for like 2 bucks there is a difference between aquarium salt and marine salt

  • @yostar69 about  80 to 100 cm i keep him in my pond
