President William McKinley is sworn into office for the second time on 4 March 1901. Within six months he would be assassinated.

  • It's amazing to actually see an undoctored image of McKinley. He looks much different from when he's all done up from his pictures overdone by paint. He looks much older too... I guess that's what Civil War veterans look like at this time, though.

  • Chief Justice Melville Fuller is the man swearing in McKinley (as he had sworn in Harrison in 1889, Cleveland in 1893, Mckinley in 1897, and swear in Theodore Roosevelt in 1905 and William Howard Taft in 1909..
