Professor eating hottest pepper in the world

The bhut jolokia, a.k.a naga jolokia pepper is the world record holder as the hottest pepper on the planet. It has Scoville rating, which is a rating for "heat of a pepper", of over 1 million Scoville units. For comparison, a typical Jalapeno pepper is about 5,000 Scoville units. This clip is of Professor Dan Bergman trying one at the end of his Human Physiology lecture at Grand Valley State University.

@robertfox05 Thanks, did this after lecture a few years back, before the naga viper was around, pretty sure I wouldn't do it again after a lecture, albeit I have eaten a naga jolokia two times since outside of class. Need to get a hold of a viper sometime.

I eat 3-4 habaneros a day. When I had some of these I averaged 1 to 1/2 per day. I saved some seeds so I'm hoping to grow them this year. Hats off to you! I've been eating spicy food since I was a kid (it really is an addiction of sorts). Some people think I'm masochistic the way I like my food.
