And its his pick up notes and his thumbing technique that are causing all those string to land in their right places at ALL the right times through the beat, Metronome style banjo playing would be impossible with this tune without those proper enunciated pick up notes Earl is doing from line to line, that DRIVES the music, just as sure as the clutch drives the Semi home!
