I love that feeling when they go by and it feels like someone is standing on your chest. Thumbs up if you agree.

@IRONSEAN7 I own one Import and one v8. I Just purchased a Toyota Aristo Twin Turbo... nice car. And there my Falcon with Cleveland 302 V8 that I've had for 4 years. I respect both US muscle and Jap tech. But until an Import can beat a Top Fuel, I guess the Old style push rod V8 still rules.

@FalconXE302 your absolutely right, the nitro methane makes a big difference to the engine.

@thequintsmusic ...thanks for the comment dude... sorry for late reply!!! Unfortunately there are currently only 5 top fuel cars running in Aus competition. (was about 8 when this vid was shot) . We only have 20 odd million population here which equates to only a few top line cars. Still... I always can't wait to see them. The Motorplex is world class... great viewing, pits etc... and is run as a real family day out. American's are always welcome down here at Kwinana... cheers

@stratmemph1 lmfao, read a book sometime instead of the internet. Air will be denser yes, but not always cooler. Intercoolers are there to cool the air that just came from around the burning hot turbo. And scientifically speaking there is only one good air/fuel mixture, you are not fooling anything by jamming more air into a cylinder, because it is going to have to use more gas at the same ratio. And displacement is the amount of volume that can fit into one cylinder not size.
-
@CyborgbobaFett No, a turbo is forced air induction causing cooler denser air into cylinders resulting in better fuel/air ratios and has nothing do do with displacement. displacement is in regards to size and nothing to do with turbos.
-
@stratmemph1 No its not, it will be true until we run full electric cars. A turbo does not replace displacement. A turbo is forcing more displacement into a cylinder. Think about it, at 120 degree's F going from 0-20 psi changes the air density 2.35x. So you are forcing around 2.35x more displacement into your engine.

@IRONSEAN7 Are you an American? wtf are you tinkin?(a little Irish lingo)?

psh gtr can beat this haha

@stratmemph1 ..>Actually, take notice of most engines built today for power, lets take imports for example. Years ago they were generally between 2 and 4 liters. 2.6 Nissan RB26... 3.0 Toyota 2JZGTE. These days take the new Nissan GTR... 3.8 liters I think ?... Camry's here in Aus are about 3.5 liters (v6 version). That extra small amount of cubes makes a great deal of difference. Sure. if a petrol miser is all one needs, then modern tech gets enough from small capacity engines.
hey is that in perth?

8000hp they only have 5000hp

@psychoguitarist10 ... 7000 to 8000 HP depending on conditions and other variables. 5000hp is Top Door Slammer (Pro Mod) class that run 100% alcohol... essentially same engine with different fuel... these run Nitro Methane, around 90% with 10% alcohol.
