Theres a difference between controlling a country and ruling it. While we have bases in many countries to try and keep things going in a direction that is suitable to our country's interests, Imperialism is making an empire and actually taking over. At this time, we're not trying to do that. I'm not taking a blue pill and I'm not ignoring things, but from my perspective it does not look like the US is trying to take over the whole world, just control it to an extent.

Hatred of the government is one thing; but outright labeling them as communist devil-worshipers trying to create a new world order of tyranny? On the chart of Too Crazy To be False and Too Crazy To be True, I'm pretty sure its the later.

As to Imperialism; I don't think the US has participated in this since WW2, when we took over Midway, and several others. Current actions regarding puerto rico seem to say that we're trying to get rid of new colonies.
