The story in 3 was actually surprisingly good, with the clown tricking everyone.. I won't give spoilers, just saying, it was good :)

DMC3 was by far better than 4 in my opinion, the story with Virgil and his brother brought so much to the game.

Because its a brotherly fight thats why DMC3's storyline was a little better than DMC and plus that Capcom hired a new director to make DMC3 (soon later DMC4)

What made DMC3 better than all the others was one thing.

VERGIL!

Vergil was actually in the story of the game. Not some mutant version of him. This was the REAL Vergil.

If they put Sparda in 5 it'd be the shit. Just focus the story on Dante's family-not some random who gives a flying fuck who he is guy-DMC4 is the equivalent of MGS2 you're playing with this guy you don't give 2 shits bout and you wanna be Dante, boost the gameplay a little and BAM! Its perfect.
