Haitian Roots group RAM performed at Central park's Summer Stage proving once again how much appeal they have with Haitians, as well as the international community at large. Although rain showers initially kept many away, the Central Park Mainstage eventually filled with those who had made a special trip to see RAM, as well as passers by, and tourists who were experiencing them for the first time.

They were the headliners performing last after Baloji from the Congo, and Group Doueh from Dakhla Western Sahara (playing in the U.S. for the first time.) RAM performed their usual classics as well as tried and true hits, finishing off with their trademark walk through the crowd, which left everyone catching their breath and wanting more.

  • This was the most fun I've had watching RAM in a while. When you see them at the Olloffson or at SOB's it's usually too hot and crowded. In Central Park there was room to dance, and plenty of room to run around with them at the end.

  • you would have LOVeD Metrotech...it was even better...the stage was only a couple feet off the ground...they were very close to the audience.

Lunise said it was like performing at the OLOFFSON...very intimate but still lots of space for them to perform and for folks to dance on the sidelines
