Henry the Otter takes inspiration from folktales such as Pinocchio and Petrushka that explore the relation between animate/inanimate through puppetry and fantasy. With a cinematic approach that borrows from the silent films of F.W. Murnau and D.W. Griffith, the film transplants these narratives into a temporally ambiguous New York City while following the adventures of a curious sea otter exploring the world of humans.
