IMPORTANT DYING BIRDS - MEMORY LOSS

http://www.youtube.com/chemlin There was a tale of 2 million birds falling from the sky in Russia back in 2007, but I haven't been able to verify this story, except for a YouTube video. Can't believe everything you see on the Internet!
If I had to guess, I'd say this looks like another bird slaughter, via poison, but it seems more wide spread this time. Perhaps the government doesn't want to get the animal rights loonies all in an uproar?
Whether they are trying to prevent the spread of disease, protect a farmer, or population control, this certainly looks like man had a hand in this one. Let's just be glad they weren't geese!

scientists said "celebratory fireworks likely sent thousands of discombobulated blackbirds into such a tizzy that they crashed into homes, cars and each other before plummeting to their deaths." The problem I have with that theory is this: what about the 500 in Louisiana? What about the bird drops in Kentucky? Did it take longer for those birds to have heart attacks from fireworks? Why don't we see these mass deaths every Fourth of July somewhere in the country?
