kultur auf höchstem niveau und ein ohrwurm sondersgleichen. auch ich hab den elias mehrere male gesungen! Nebenbei natürlich auch ein zugang zu unserem glauben

Ich stimme mit "EasyAmerica" zu, es sind sehr schöne Stimmen und es ist auch ein wunderschönes Oratorium.
Am 27. März 2011 werden wir den ELIAS auch erleben Können mit dem Oratorienchor der Stadt Wadern, hervorragenden Solisten und Mitgliedern der Deutschen Radiophilharmonie. Alle sind eingeladen. (Übrigens: Wadern liegt im nördlichen Saarland)

Felix Mendelssohn a true genius, with this Elias he raised to the figure of a genius as far as sacred music is concerned!, in other orders he had so many wonderful works, violin concerto, a midsummer´s night dream, les hebrides, song with no words, his 5 symphonies, chamber music and so many others, one of the greatest of all times. A TRUE GIANT

the ouverture is so beautiful! It amazes me everytime I listen to the Elias. We sing this with our choir (school choir) this year, in the netherlands, and it's very hard for us, but it's oh so beautiful.
