I posted this to show the 4-cylinder Accord's lack of power when climbing even minor grades. I'd definitely hesitate to take this car on a trip into the mountains. Yikes.

  • Granted the car is heavier than mine, but my Daewoo-era Suzuki pulls better than that in 3rd gear, in that speed range, on a steeper grade...(I should make a video lol)

And kinda to someone below, I live near the mountains, driven in them plenty of times. I easily go over 70 depending on traffic haha

  • I agree that it's not bad, but actually pretty good for a heavy-ish midsize sedan with a 4. I have a 2005 Altima 2.5 S- 175 hp and 180 ft/lb peak torque. It's a bit lighter than this Accord but then again it only has a 4-speed auto. Took it out on a similar grade tonight after watching this video and the result was pretty much identical. It took about 6 seconds to go from 60 mph to 80 mph which is a typical interstate passing situation for me. It's pretty peppy as I'm sure the 2.4 Accord is.

  • its not lack of power it doesnt have alot of midrange torque dats all bit it can beat alot of four clyinders out there.

  • Its really not that bad - I mean, you'd never naturally get over 65 driving through the mountains, anyway.
