Look what's growing next to my driveway! I'm buried in them! They're delicious, nutritious and they speak many languages! Well ok, maybe they don't speak many languages but they can riverdance! Hmmm...no dancing huh? I guess they're not good for much then. :( Oh wait! I just remembered, they're delicious! :)

  • I can still hear my Plant ID teacher:

"This is Himalayan Blackberry. All parts are thorny, except the roots. Canes will grow 15-25 feet in one year, and WHERE-EVER they touch the ground, they will root. They were imported to this area [Oregon] by a moron. If I catch ANY of you putting even ONE start of this Horror in my Greenhouse, I will throw you out of the program, and send your name, marked "IDIOT", to every registered Nursery in the state!"

She hated those things, God rest her soul.

  • @DamiettadCarnivalle Holy cow she really didn't like those things. LOL

  • Ray I thought you were looking for a house in Southern MN but now it looks like you went north. What happened?

  • @mrpaupie Still going to move to southern Minnesota. I haven't moved yet.

  • Tell the truth Ray, are the dogs there to eat or protect you from the Bears ?

  • @iampchaupt Those dogs would shove me into the bear's mouth if they thought it would by them one moment of escape time. lol

And they'd take the berries with them.

  • Jam, jelly and wine...oh, my:) Ferns are nice too. You should have stayed and open some greenhouses:)

  • We have ferns here too, lol,, Did you know when they are young you can eat them? Before the open up they are called fiddle heads, and they are actually quite good!

  • theyv come real early this year in the uk. been pickeable for a good week already. sure theres a reson. mild spring mayb? im making jam. best scaveageable fruit here very widespread.

  • Great video. Really wished that Blackberries grew here in Idaho. I dont have the right soil for them. By the way, try using Manual Focus on your camcorder. The problem with the camcorder is the Auto Focus isnt quick enough to focus when you do a closeup, thus the reason for unfocused segments. See if that helps.
