Your post caught my eye because, as you've mentioned, what difference does it make what religious beliefs she practiced. Her voice came from her heart and soul. Thank God for bringing her music to all of us!

Just so as to be clear for all who wish to read something into Eva Cassidy's choice of music to sing. She was a born and raised a Roman Catholic but left the church and belonged to no organized religion. She was however a deeply spiritual person. Now instead of trying to read meanings into her music that is not there, enjoy it for what it is and mourn the fact we shall not see more of it from a woman who was a truly amazing talent.

today, i was listening "Wade in the water" where she sings she's been redeemed and she sings about God and the Holy Ghost.

It reminded me to this again .
