Don't jump to conclusions, CJ. Jan Berry was a very close friend of mine; I miss him very much. I was referring to the poor sound/video quality of the clip in my last post. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

@abrahamsocool Yes, Brain Wilson CO WROTE a couple songs with Jan Berry, but not as many as the media would have you think. Still they were friends and Jan taught Brian a LOT about recording and produceing even Brian Wilson gives Jan credit.

@ladyvee7110 Jennie Lee was by Jan and Arnnie in 1958. Baby Talk was by Jan and Dean in 1959. So, it s a no brainner. And Jan and Dean was first even Mike Love says so as well as Brain Wilson. The Beach Boys were 1961. Jn and Dean was before.

To the guy who quoted Dick Dale about "no vocals in surf music": That's just his opinion. Did you ever hear Dick Dale sing? Ouch. I'll take the hit version of Surfin' Safari any day of the week over anything Dick Dale has recorded -- instrumentally or vocally!

As Dick Dale once said, "There are no vocals in surf music". Jan and Dean never made a "surf" record although they sang about surf subjects.

Os primeiros tbm no "skate music" no começo dos anos 60 já andavam de skate em suas apresentações. Simplesmente sensacional!!!!
