What happened was the RTE crew were setting up for a shot, the man seeing the TV camera decided he'll get on TV but walk past fast the camera so as not to be seen as an attention seeking whore or as not to be seen walking slowly as you should when there is frost on the ground, result: he fell over. Don't believe me look at how fast he was walking coming into the shot and compare that to how you would walk in that weather

American tv networks do stuff like this all the time and from what I can see on YT so do British networks. The way that that guy was walking and the ice on the pavement caused his fall. The fact that a tv camera captured his misfortune might be embarrassing for him but it is hardly "shocking".
