  • "Down in the ma-roo-oon light..." This song definitely puts the ol' voodoo spell on me. Can't imagine why no one pays it any mind... in my mind, it's a classic.

    Thank you, Aqualung!

  • This song was playing as I drove down the Sacremento highway on my way to LAX after visiting The States. The sun was setting and we were on the last leg of our journey. It felt so fitting. I'll never forget it. This is simply one of Paul Simon's best ever songs. Criminally underappreciated but I like it more for it's niche quality - it makes it even more precious.

  • Maybe these emotions are as near to love as love will ever be.

  • one of his best and probably most underappreciated songs....definitely makes you feel like moving on....

  • He actually mentions Carrie Fischer in this song (who he had been married to). He mentions her in quite a few songs actually. But great song for sure (:

  • I have loved this album for decades now. Timeless and a testimonial to Simon's musical genius. Thank you, Aqualung. First turned on to it by a lover from long ago. Very evocative of the good times of my younger days.

  • @davidmcc54 its only when you take time out , only then can you appreciate the hidden classics on pauls albums

  • "A sympathetic stranger lights a candle in the middle of the night". I don't know what it means, but I love it. It could be something as simple as someone who came over with a candle to help them look for a contact lens lost in a dark place. Who knows!

  • One of my faves from Paul Simon, a man who writes truth, she sings back to him in the B-VOX..."You feel the bite whenever you believe that you'll be lost & love will never find you; she is like a top, she cannot stop, she moves on...she said maybe these emotions are as near to love as love will ever be, and I agreed...

she needs to talk, we take a walk, down by the moonlight...my storybook lover, you have underestimated my power, as you surely will discover..."
