Stephen Goldsmith (R) likes the idea that the NYPD uses ''stop and frisk'' as a tool. At a July 20, 2010 breakfast meeting, the new Deputy Mayor of New York City provided his opinions about ''stop and frisk.''
Meanwhile :
" The Fourth Amendment restrains the ability of police officers to stop and detain the people they encounter. Unless the officer has a reasonable suspicion that the person has committed, is committing, or is about to commit a crime, the Fourth Amendment usually prohibits a detention. To frisk the detainee, the officer must have a reasonable suspicion that the person is armed and dangerous."

Please can we have "stop and frisk" at The Mercer Hotel in Soho? They have a fleet of Ferraris, Range Rovers, SUVs sitting in a no parking zone that says loading and unloading for the Mercer Hotel. Being able to park for hours and not get a ticketed by the NYPD is darn suspicious. It does feel like "economic prejudice" when it comes to ticketing, etc. I want every criminal off the streets & the communities and rappers, anybody who can deter crime and inspire "peace to the streets" = safe st
