Awesome job! I've added this video to my favorites and I've bookmarked your website. I just purchased a 1966 Islander 32 and there isn't much info on the internet about this boat, how she sails, how seaworthy she is, quality of construction, etc., so I'm very happy that you have gone to all the trouble of posting information on this great old boat. By the way, you did a fantastic job and I can't compliment you enough on how your boat turned out!

OMG! What a beautiful boat. Wishing you and your family many many years of enjoyment. Just about anyone can go buy a new boat, but is takes a special someone to do what you did and I'm sure she will show yu and yours the same for years to come. I love the detail to the paint job. Congratulations. Oh, itsn't that auto tiller great?

@OHFORPEATSAKES Hey, I believe you. You can find a lot of parts here and there that can be used on a sailboat, but tell the seller that it is for a sailboat the the price is double. The wife and I came to the conclusion early on that it is better to buy a boat that is already in decent condition than to rebuild one.

how much $ total for the refit? I was thinking of this option as there are so many nice bigger boats for cheap out there. Also did you do the interior woodwork and design yourself or did someone else do it?

What ever you budget, triple it. Really. I spent five times more than I thought I would. A total refit on a boat this size will set you back at least $30,000. Double the time you think it will take. I did all the work except build the mast and boom. I used the original bulkheads and followed the original layout. Google islander 32. You'll find my web site about the refit. It should be the top one.

Thanks for all the comments. I really enjoyed working on her and love sailing her even more. I hope my family and I will continue to enjoy the boat for many more years.
