A Tour Of Poor Dayton - Kettering & Moraine

I am traveling through Kettering, Ohio and its neighbor the city of Moraine.

In the previous videos, I traveled through Kettering and showed you some of the things here in the community.

Now I take you through its neighbor. The city of Moraine is a dying city! Just as Trotwood, Riverside and Dayton, the city of Moraine is hit with economic turmoil.

Delphi Corporation, the controversial automotive parts company that filed for bankruptcy a few years back.

General Motors Truck and Bus Facility is closing. It is located here and was about 35% of the active manufacturing jobs in the Dayton area.

Now both companies are forced to take drastic measures by shutting down and putting many employees out of jobs.

The city of Dayton is part of the RUST BELT.

Many areas from Western New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virgina, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, and to parts of Minnesota and Iowa are hit with this economic downfall.

And it's impact is felt across the country.

Splash Moraine is a water park located nearby (I will focus on that area in later postings). Sun Watch Indian Village is located in Dayton, Ohio and is a major tourist attraction near the city of Moraine.

Also watch your speed! If you are on some of the city of Moraine roads, you could be caught in a speed trap? And believe me, you don't want a ticket.

FAQ- The reason why I call this A Tour of Poor Dayton is because of the area's declining population, people losing jobs, boarded homes, businesses closing and economic turmoil in Montgomery, Miami and Greene Counties. And mostly Ohio in general. I am giving those who have never been to Dayton a chance to understand the plight of manufacturing communities.

So that will put to rest any questions of why I titled the videos!
