We performed large-eddy simulation with the sub-grid scale (LES-SGS) stretched-vortex model of momentum and scalar transport to study the gas-dynamics interactions of a helium inclined round jet with a supersonic (Mach number = 3.6) turbulent (Reynolds number = 13x10^3) air flow over a flat surface. The fluids dynamics video shows the temporal development of Mach-number and magnitude of density-gradient in the mid-span plane, and isosurface of helium mass-fraction and lambda_2 (vortical structures).

  • Cool!

  • are you sure, smagorinsky did not dissipate structures close to the wall ?

why you did not confine the inlet noise close to wall, finally why i think that your wall boundary condition is physical only ( maybe you should apply the characteristic conditions considering the wave moving tangential to the wall also ;) )

  • By which computation tool you simulated this sir?
