Jeremy Cleland piloted the zero-emissions Mission One Electric Superbike to claim the national AMA top speed record for an electric motorcycle, achieving a record 150.059 mph two-pass average run sustained for one mile at Bonneville Speedway on September 1st, 2009. Lead up runs to the record saw one-way speeds across the mile stretch of 161mph.

The record-breaking top speed was achieved at the annual BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials at the Bonneville Speedway, approximately 90 miles west of Salt Lake City, UT. This event offers world and national record setting opportunities to top contenders in many classes. The Mission One achieved a top speed higher than 70% of the gasoline powered entrants.

This video features Mitchell Pierce pulling power wheelies and cornering hard at Infineon Raceway and Jeremy Cleland obliterating the landspeed record.

Mission Motors has targeted high performance and iconic design in the development of its first vehicle, the Mission One. With a top speed of over 150 mph, a 150-mile range and unparalleled access to torque, the Mission One surpasses the performance of other production electric motorcycles and rivals gas-powered incumbents. The motorcycles are hand-built in San Francisco, California, with a radical commitment to environmental sustainability.

The company is selling 300 Mission One electric motorcycles in the 2010 model year, with the first 50 Premier Limited Edition models available for reservation now.

    Most impressive MM.

  • WOW!!! That is one EXTREMELY AWESOME, BITCHIN' BIKE!!!!! Who'd have ever thought in the motorcycle world that it would be at all possible to build a bike that could haul MAJOR ASS yet emit NO fumes or emissions at all? Let those gas prices go sky high!!! Mission doesn't give a damn!!!!

  • @ford9572 Emit no emissions LMAO. Most electricty in USA is COAL powered. So basically it is a bike thta runs on COAL and lots of it. Nothing ECO about electricity.

  • Nem dois nem quatro tempos, o futuro está aí, as motocicletas elétricas substituirão os motores a combustão com muita eficiência e sem poluição por movimentos.

  • im a little skeptical on how safe this thing is.

Car drivers have trouble seeing motorcycles as it is. And now they cant even hear you either???

  • How much? I'm hooked....

  • At least one electric motorcycle (not MissionMotors) has already competed with the gassers in 2011, at AutoCub Speedway. Competing in two WERA sprint races the emc rider took two podium finishes! He later returned for a fast-track test where he pushed the hp up to 240 and hit 163+ mph on the front straight and shaved 2 seconds off of his previous winning lap times. I was there both days and took video (posted on my channel).

  • @EETechs Yeah!!! I bet the Killacycle can top out at 568 mph!!! Any bike that can go 500 mph or better is COMPLETELY AWESOME in MY book!!!

  • @ford9572 Then you need to see the Killacycle too. It is deadly fast.

  • where are u gonea go then the air is so bad it kills u. whare?

  • @anteracmacash

Ah well, to each his own. I love that sound. Like a Star Wars speeder bike.

  • @TheDragonknee71 Right now, the gas bikes would smoke the electric bikes. Well on a top end level anyway. On the track, they would be about the same. Then again it'll be much lighter cause there's no exhaust. Its not holding any extra weight from gas either. Well either way, electric bike would lose. Til they make them faster and things like that. nitro powered rc cars are better. The run time is better on nitro. I love my bandit vxl though. The 4 tec and jato is awesome^_^
