what was that tournament in the beggining, looked mad!

@wnsk Its a real style lmfao. Its Chinese Hybrid Boxing made into sport and used in the army. Freestyle is what Sanshou means.

@911AmericanSoldier I don't know what else was taught at this symposium, but this counter works. It's used in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and sanshou. Most recently, Georgio Petrosyan has demonstrated its effectiveness at the 2009 K1 MAX World Championship. Note that since he is a southpaw, it's easier for him to use this technique because outside low kicks to his front leg come from the opponent's lead leg (not their power leg), but even an orthodox fighter can use this if their timing is perfect.

Man knows what he's talking about. I'd be ALL ears.

For the record, his training to the National Association of Professional Martial Artists is invaluable.
But.......

I was at this symposium and as much as I admire Cung's advice, it's one of those things as a person when you've trained with guys trying to kill you with leg kicks like Chad Khonvirosong from Thailand, and people of that ilk?
You put it into context. It's refined TKD kicking.
It's good for sport.

i don't think sanshou is a real style -- it's just Chinese "freestyle" fighting
