  • she rocks!! what a woman...inspiration

  • Definitely one of my all time favorites. Especially love her recordings of the Handel suites. Her Scarlatti untouchable. Such an elemental force in music. An unnamed library university in Florida decided to dispose of their LP collection to "üpgrade" to CDs. Rather than sell them hers was anomg many senselessly wasted. Needles to say- I was pissed.

  • I think she is Alice Ehlers, I believe she was a student of Landowska's.

  • Landowska seems, to me , like a wonderful and beautiful person inside. And I find this common in genius of this sort. I think it is a deep understanding of the human condition that propels a willingness to achieve perfection not only as an artist, but as a person. Bravo for posting this, very enjoyable!

  • RE: Mozart Rondo alla Turca

'Tis the last movement of a PIANO sonata --- the ballroom scene in Wuthering Heights notwithstanding.

By the way, Landowska did NOT perform in Wuthering Heights, but whoever it was did her best to look and play like Wanda. Does anyone know who that harpsichordist was? She was good, even though the film makers cut the piece to ribands.

  • Thank you for such a precious, interesting music video

  • Great!!

  • Does anyone know what the piece at 03:02 is called?
