I know what the 67 votes refers to. But any bill has to get enough votes to pass. The Democrats who want to stop the war can do so by telling BUsh they won't vote for war funding beyond enough troop support to keep them alive and get them out of the country. That would stop it right there. Boom. No bill. Nothing sent to the White House for the president to sign or veto. None of the politicians want to admit that they can do that.

Incorrect, there a dozens of bills introduced by the Democratic Congress regarding Iraq. Many of them have been tied up in committees. For example, the Change the Direction In Iraq Bill (HB 1460) would repeal the AUMF and INCREASE diplomatic efforts. HR 2026 would reduce the number of troops in Iraq. HE.746 IH calls for a safe withdrawl of our troops in Iraq. They need to insure that they have a veto proof majority before passing these bills. Bush will most certainly veto any of these.

You seem to think I'm saying the anti-war Dems need to introduce the correct bills to stop the war (actually, it's an occupation, not a war). No. All they need to do, once again, is refuse to vote for any bill that further funds it. It's very simple, not rocket science. They tell Bush they won't cooperate. That stops the "war" (occupation). Dead.
