This is the 3rd of the T.K. tapes - captured on a Grundig reel-to-reel tape recorder in 1970. Part Two will follow shortly.
I was 18 when I wrote and recorded it. I was in-love for the first time, captivated by Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet' and by Zeffirelli's wonderful film of it.
This is my youthful reflection on the pain of having to part from your lover. It would be great to hear a female voice singing it.
The lyrics follow & I think I used an open 'D' tuning. If any of our YT chanteuses would like to have a go, I'd be truly honoured.
Dedicated to the memory of the late Cedric German (R.C.G.) who taught Shakespeare to us unruly M.G.S. boys - with such great passion, understanding, affection and humour that we would never forgot it (nor him).
Lyrics:
(Romeo)
Morning is coming
My love, I must leave you.
Loved all I can
I hope that I've pleased you
My eyes have been opened
Now I've seen inside you.
Don't want to leave, my love,
But you know I'm obliged to.
(Juliet)
Come into my vestibule,
Said the young girl to her man.
Climb in here, beside of me,
And show me that you can.
Don't worry 'bout my age, my love.
Don't worry 'bout your Mother.
It's the time of life
When you need to fight
And find yourself
Within another.
Faster, love.
Deeper, love.
Give it all that you got.
Don't think that you're hurtin' me
Well, you are . . .and yet
You're not.
You made me love
You made it, love.
Feel your soul unbend.
Dance with me,
Fly with me
Don't ever let it end.
(Romeo)
Morning is coming
My love, I must leave you.
I've loved all I can.
I hope that I've pleased you.
Don't wanna have to leave you,
But you know I'm obliged to.
My eyes have been opened,
Now I've seen inside you.
Morning is coming . . .
My love I must go.
Nice lick stu! I liked the song. Perhaps the 20k hits was helped by Taylor Swift hit? lol.
To steal a line from Mark - It went well with my morning Red Bull.

lol . .well it's definitely not on merit, we know that much. Funny thing, though, that I didn't play it at all, to anyone, in 39 yrs . . and then I put it on YT ! :p Fortunately, it now sounds like a completely different person . . so I can actually enjoy it myself. :]
Thx for stopping-by, my friend, it was really good to see you.
