RAI STRATEGIE TECNOLOGICHE - ATLAS Un avatar per la lingua dei segni: offre uno strumento automatico di traduzione dall'italiano scritto alla lingua dei segni italiana (LIS) visualizzata mediante un attore virtuale, un "avatar" animato in computer-grafica. ENGLISH - ATLAS Automatic translation into Sign Languages - ATLAS is a three-year project, co-funded by Regione Piemonte and aims to develop innovative services for the deaf people and offer them the opportunity to follow and understand the broadcast media through the machine translationfrom written Italian to Italian Sign Language LIS . ATLAS tecnology guarantees to deaf people, through a 3D virtualinterpreter that translates the contents to LIS, the correct and complete comprehension of television programs, web pages and movies reproduced on physical media.
