The Senate passed an amendment by Senator Bernie Sanders that would require the Department of Defense to calculate how much the Pentagon pays companies that committed fraud. The measure, added to a defense appropriations bill, also would make the Pentagon recommend how to penalize contractors that repeatedly cheat the government out of hundreds of millions of dollars. Sanders contrasted the sweeping scope of defense contractor fraud to misdeeds by a few employees of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

  • I agree, up with the socialist Jews. I'm sick of the capitalist ones.

  • I'll trade 5 Diane Feinsteins for one Bernie Sanders. Imagine if California had 2 senators we could depend on to speak truth and demand change we can believe in. Thank goodness for Bernie Sanders. He is the only one denouncing the rank behavior of war profiteers. Is anyone listening?

  • Bernie Sanders is my hero.

  • Bernie Sanders reminds me to Gajus Grachus (Spartacus).

  • Let them have it, Bernie! I can't believe these things have been swept under the rug for so long.

  • Oh, brother...I accidentally gave a "thumbs up" to TheGrimester88's profoundly stupid comment. May the Good Lord forgive me.

I couldn't care less what religion Sanders is, and I'll bet my dollars against your doughnuts that TheGrimester88 doesn't have even the foggiest notion of what socialism is or means.

  • I love this man! Thank you Senator Sanders!

  • Sanders states the issue, finally, at 2:10, then doesn't touch upon a possible solution until 11:10. At that, his proposal is only to seek RECOMMENDATIONS about penalizing contractors cheating the United States. So...2-ish minutes of set-up, 10 seconds of issue, 9 long minutes of oft-repeated examples, and finally a few seconds proposing a very weak "solution." Disappointing.

I like Sanders, but this speech rings hollow, just more jawboning that we now expect and accept from our leaders.

  • At about 5:11 I fell in love again.

"This is not ACORN! They were defunded immediately! Two-minute videotape!"

  • GO BERNIE!!!
