Jesus, Chuie, Barajas did not want to wrestle. His father brought him in the No Mercy School of Wrestling room 4 months ago and he wanted to quit right away. It was a "let's finish the season" deal between the father and son. But, our "season" runs rom October to July. He lost in our local tournaments. He lost at our local Association Finals, but was told that "losing is learning" and that only by losing can we eliminate mistakes and get better. Never be afraid to be afraid. Fear makes you quicker, stronger and only when you face and conquer your fear will you be a true Champion, win or lose. Jesus won this tournament without giving up a single point in 4 matches, including the finals.

  • Good job Chuie! Was he 8 years old at that tournament? I have a fist year wrestler that is interested in competing at the 2010 Ca State Championships at <60lbs. Any advice? He has placed 1st (4x) and 3rd in his first 5 tournaments and needs a challenge. His 3rd place finish was in his first ever tournament...he didn't understand the rules....go figure!
