It's obvious why they never play that way anymore. Vincent has never really mastered guttural techniques. Look at him, he's just fuckin' up his vocal folds and is crying because of severe throat pain. Compare his spoken voice with the one on the "Were You There" DVD. It must have been a relief for him to move away from their old style.
